In the lead up to my trip to Bali, the food was playing on my mind a lot. I had a long list of places to visit and not enough meals in the day to make it to them all. Quite the foodie predicament.
In Seminyak we had a beautiful villa strategically located just a short walk from many of the plant-based cafes. So, each day we ventured out on foodie adventures.
You don’t need to be a plant-based/vegan to enjoy this food. These cafes use fresh, local produce and their menus have so much to choose from. Below are the best places I visited.
My plant-Based favourite: Earth Café
Where do I begin with Earth Café… I would move to Bali just so I could eat there every day. I was happy to learn that this was the closest cafe to our villa and they also offer delivery, which was perfect for a lazy day spent by the pool. We ate here several times during our stay but it still wasn’t enough. I wanted to try everything on this menu! They also have a location in Ubud, which is just as good.
A few of my top picks:
- Crepes – I can’t recommend these dreamy crepes enough (see the image at the top of this post).
- Pizza – I loved the base made from flax seeds and sunflower seeds, and the cashew cheese on top is perfect.
- Veggie Burger – One of the best I’ve had. And I’ve had A LOT of veggie burgers during my time. It’s served with hand-cut sweet potato chips (the white ones with purple skin) and a rustic tomato sauce.
- Tacos – These were really good. Ask for tofu instead of goats cheese.
- Sushi – Bite sized deliciousness. I grabbed these for takeaway a few times to have for breakfast the next day.
- Dragon Bowl – So much flavour and crunch in one salad.
- Build-your-own chocolate box – Grab a box and fill it with a selection of chocolates from the fridge. Be sure to try the white chocolate square and the crunchy peanut butter ball.

Café Organic
So happy to have come across this café. The food presentation here is mouth watering and I loved the Garden Ganstas artwork on the wall.
I thoroughly enjoyed:
- Potato Rosti with a side of sweet potato chips – I love my potatoes! Served with cherry tomatoes, avocado, alfalfa and caramelized onion.
- Earth Bowl – A beautiful, nourishing salad bowl. The perfect addition to a lunch spread.
- Original Gangsta – Freshly squeezed OJ. Sometimes simplicity is best.
- Acai Coco – Loved the way this smoothie bowl was served in half of a mature coconut with a dragon fruit heart.

Sisterfields
Swing by for a smoothie when you need a shopping break. The Pash Me! smoothie had passion fruit, berries, mango, coconut nectar and house-made nut milk – just the right amount of creaminess, slightly tangy and extremely refreshing. If you want to sit inside during peak hours though, be prepared to wait as this place was pumping every time we went.

Revolver Cafe
The most delicious coffee in Bali and the cafe has a really cool vibe. Get the Killer Chiller with almond milk and no whipped cream. They also have cold drip coffee.

Nalu Bowls
Smoothie bowls served in coconut shells, which they sell if you want to recreate one at home. This is one of the cutest places and has a Hawaiian feel to it with white washed wood and a tropical menu. The Macaronis, Uluwatu and J-Bay bowls were all incredible and you choose your own toppings. Plus they sell the most adorable tote bags covered in pineapples.

Shelter Café
This café sits above Nalu Bowls. There was a beautiful breeze and greenery hanging from the roof. They sell bamboo straws, which I couldn’t pass up. If you get a chance to stop by for brunch, the smashed avo is a great choice with a side of potato rosti.
