Having the opportunity to explore new eateries while traveling is one of my favourite things to do. Recently, I spent a short 48 hours in Bondi and I wanted to share my favourite places to find plant-based food.
I’ve also included a few of the outdoor activities I recommend you try while in Bondi. It’s such a beautiful coastline so make the most of it and get outdoors.
Top plant-based cafes and restaurants in Bondi
My plant-based favourite: Speedos Cafe
You’ll find this one on the North side of Bondi. Grab a table outside and try the vegan option of the Green Goodness Bowl (see the image at the top of this post) or the vegan burger. I loved this cafe and their plant-based options so I went back each day. Since my visit, they have added even more plant-based options so it looks like I’ll have to go back!

Cali Press
At Cali Press, you’ll find organic cold-pressed juices and smoothies, coffee and whole food meals and snack. If you’re into coffee, try the Godfather smoothie. So delish! I was staying right across the road from the Bondi cafe, although they also have locations in Bronte, Coogee, Double Bay and Surrey Hills.

Funky Pies
Funky Pies is a small shop in the heart of Bondi with a completely vegan menu and gluten-free options available. I tried the Funky Chunky, which is filled with shiitake mushrooms, mashed potato, and gravy and grabbed a few raw treats to try for dessert.

Bhodi in the park
Bhodi in the park is a beautiful restaurant serving vegan yum cha. I recommend doing this one with friends or family so you can try more of the menu and grabbing a table outside among the trees.

Healthy activities in Bondi
Bondi to Bronte coastal walk
Such a beautiful way to explore a part of the coast. I recommend heading out at sunrise, there are less people on the trail and the fairy floss skies are gorgeous. It took me a little over an hour round trip. Leave the headphones at home and listen to the waves crashing against the rocks.
Icebergs
Icebergs is one of the most iconic places in Bondi. $7 entry and you have access to the sea water pools, change rooms and lockers. Nothing beats a swim in the ocean but this is perfect for when the ocean is a little rough.

Yoga by the ocean
Located at Icebergs, either down the bottom or up on the deck. I stumbled across the 4pm session and I’m so glad I did. Practicing yoga with the ocean breeze and afternoon sunshine is heaven. $18 for a class plus $7 entry to Icebergs. I suggest bringing your bathers and heading down for a swim and sauna afterwards.
